Social Media Community

Social media is a powerful tool that has great potential to bring people together. While there are definitely down sides to watch out for, I believe in using these tools for good.

Below is what you can expect to find on all of Simply Vicki’s social media platforms. They are each a little different.

Facebook

On the Simply Vicki Facebook page, I share resources, posts, and articles that I believe to be helpful to homeschoolers and homemakers. I also share some light hearted reads to spread hope and even make you laugh.

Generally speaking, I shy away from controversial topics because I do not desire my Facebook page to be a place of debate. Debate is healthy, I simply think Facebook is very often the wrong place for those debates to happen, especially where large amounts of people gather. It can get out of hand very quickly.

I schedule approximately 6 posts each day and also like to occasionally share some of my Instagram photos to give a behind the scenes peek into my life.

Instagram

Instagram is pretty straightforward. I share photos that I take throughout my days. You get to see things like when we get a new dog, what my essential oil collection looks like, what my planning sessions look like, and all sorts of yummy food and my cute kids because it is Instagram after all.

A few hashtags that I like to use:

Twitter

I recently made the decision to start over with Twitter. What I desire to build is a community around homeschooling, homemaking, Christian faith, and even blogging. It is where I will quickly share resources I come across that I don’t have time to schedule to Facebook.

I will also participate in Twitter parties, which are super fun. In case you are interested, here are a couple Twitter parties you may find me at:

  • #focusedbc – This is the hashtag for the blogging conference I am proud to be a part of. We chat blogging Wednesdays at 2:00-3:00 pm, eastern.
  • #kbnchat¬†– These parties are hosted twice a week and cover a wide variety of topics. The party is hosted by a couple Kid Blogger Network bloggers.

Pinterest

Pinterest is my visual bookmark system. I have my boards organized pretty well. I pin homeschooling and homemaking resources, recipes, DIY and crafts, and I have a humor board, too.

That is currently all the social media platforms that I am active on. I’d love to see you there!
