I am learning about and planning for raising a child (or children) in a healthy way. I also work in a preschool and love that the book is about music and movement – such a great way for kids to grow and learn!

About myself: I’m starting my own blog this year. I’m pregnant with my first biological son (stepson in picture). I homeschool my 6 year old daughter with autism, my 2 year old (who confessed around Halloween that she was mad that she couldn’t read) and now my 10 month old (who started speaking in sentences over our Christmas break). I stink at potty training, I hate living in the enormous house my husband bought (before we were married) and I am trying to find a fundamentalist church home… Except I come from an evangelical Lutheran background and live in an area that has adopted the failing willowcreek, seeker based model of worship. I am also trained in classical singing, but I have a genetic hearing impairment.

We would read to our children every night when they were small and even when they were bigger we would sit and read good children’s literature, taking turns reading chapters. Wonderful times together. My married children who are expecting want to do the same thing with their children and these books will start them off. So nice to have something to write down your thoughts about your child while you are waiting for him to be born, too. Even today, my grown children love to read the things I wrote down in their baby books while they were growing up.
