Yeah, I did, too. So I decided to pray about it. And now I give you, my blog’s mission statement:
- To glorify Christ. To show what He has done in my life and what He is teaching me.
- To share photos, experiences, my faith, goals and advice.
- To connect with like-minded women.
- To earn a small income.
The last few weeks, God has really been speaking to my heart about my priorities. You know, the little ones. The ones that (we think) don’t really matter. Yeah, about that. Apparently, little details matter to the Most High.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matthew 10:30
Yesterday, I heard the song “Be Thou My Vision” sung by Selah.
Be Thou my vision, oh Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light
Sounds like a plan. And a prayer. If He is my vision, I can rest assured that the details in my life will be covered more than sufficiently, they will be covered divinely. Awesome.
Now, you may wonder (well, I hope you don’t, but still) why we need another Christian “mommy blog” on the Internets. Simply, for this reason:
Just as each person has been created unique, so is each person’s journey through life.
I may share similar themes to other blogs, but this one is mine. How God deals with me is unique to my journey thus far and where He is leading me. I have witnessed time and time again how God has brought just the right encouragement into my life, at just the right time.
We may be on the same page or you may be chapters ahead of me. No matter. I want this blog to be an encouragement to other women. You may find that encouragement in that you are not alone in what you are dealing with or you may find encouragement that at least you aren’t that bad. 😉
Awhile ago, I eluded to the list of ideas I had for posts. To end some of the suspense, here are a few of the topics/titles I’m drafting up posts for:
- Serving others in a way that can actually make a difference (need a better title for this one)
- God’s faithfulness to handle the details
- new photos (well, not much drafting to this, just resizing and such)
- homeschooling (you don’t have to wait long on this one…two posts in one day!)
- cloth diapers
- Blog Reading
- that whole New thing
- updates on The List and my 2012 To Do List
- FOOD
No matter what the topic, I’m keeping this in mind as I draft each post:
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17 {emphasis is mine}
I can promise you this, I take the responsibility of representing Christ seriously. I make mistakes, but I strive to never misrepresent my Lord.
Join me in my journey?
